Our Journey of Growth & Resilience

Navigating the Challenges of Parenting children with Additional needs.

Our Journey of Growth

Welcome to Thriving Slowly, a blog born from our experiences as parents of a child with additional needs. When my youngest daughter was diagnosed with a rare genetic syndrome, our world turned upside down, and we found ourselves searching for answers amidst the chaos. Yet, despite the challenges, we remained hopeful for our future as a family of five. As I began to share our journey, I discovered a community of parents navigating similar struggles — feeling overwhelmed by the demands of work, sports, meals, extra feedings, and countless hospital appointments. The weight of these responsibilities took a toll on our physical and mental health, compounded by the financial strain. Through this blog, I hope to connect with others who share our journey, offering support and solidarity in these challenging times, while also celebrating the joys that come with raising extraordinary children.

Parenting with Purpose

At Thriving Slowly, we believe you don’t have to choose between a meaningful career and being a present, connected parent. This space is for working mums—especially those over 40—who are navigating the delicate dance of motherhood, advocacy, and ambition.

Here, we’re rewriting the rules. No more hustle, no more guilt. Just gentle systems, thoughtful strategies, and a whole lot of grace. Whether you're balancing Therapy meetings, boardrooms, or bedtime routines, you're not alone—and you don't have to burn out to belong.

We're building lives filled with intention, not overload. You can parent with purpose, protect your peace, and honour your identity. One step at a time. Welcome to your slow, steady, empowered reset
